MCMC Asked Police To Block Semi-Nude PhotosGEORGE TOWN: Police have instructed the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to block the circulation of several pictures of a half-naked woman alleged to be a police constable, which has gone viral on the Internet and WhatsApp messaging app over the past few days.
Penang Police deputy chief Datuk A. Thaiveegan said the police had recorded the statement from the female constable and were in the midst of tracking down several other individuals concerning the case.
"The constable has lodged a report denying that she was the woman in the pictures. It looks like her, but it is not. I have asked for further investigation to be done," he said after opening a seminar titled "Teenagers and Free Sex: Effects and Consequences" here Saturday.
He said the police would work closely with the MCMC to locate the individuals who initially circulated the photos.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 500 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
The female constable had earlier lodged a police report on Friday. - Bernama
