Check Status Of DBKLTowed Vehicles With WhatsApp, Telegrams And SMS | Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) in collaboration with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has provided app 'WhatsApp and telegrams' and short messaging service (SMS) for the public to check the status of their vehicle being towed.
Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Ahmad Phesal Talib said the public can review starting Tuesday by sending their vehicle registration number into online number 013-6663255.
"Any owner or driver of a vehicle who feel their car have been towed can check using this application and from there we will let them tow vehicle storage location and the number of compound fees they have to pay.
"To ensure that people are aware of this application, the City Hall has also installed 30 notices around the city center, especially in the 'hot spot' of towing vehicles in Bukit Bintang, Jalan Pudu and Bangsar," he said.
He was speaking to reporters after launching the new Towing Vehicle Storage Depot in Galloway Road, here today.
Ahmad Phesal said the establishment of Towing Vehicle Storage Depot Galloway Road to facilitate motorists towed around Kuala Lumpur to claim their vehicles at a closer location .
"Before this, many people complained they had to take their vehicle away in storage depot Vehicle Towing in Jinjang. So, this time we set up here (Galloway Road) with the operating hours to be 24 hours to facilitate them to claim the vehicle," he said.
He said that from January to September this year, a total of 6,105 vehicles were committing offenses involving the obstruction with compound fee totalling of RM143,370.
