New Car Window Tint Regulations To Take Effect May 1 2015 | The implementation of new car window tint regulations for rear windscreens and passenger windows has been deferred six months, to May 1, 2015, Road Transport Department (JPJ) director-general Datuk Seri Ismail Ahmad said.
Ismail said the new date was meant to give owners of imported vehicles ample time to replace the windscreens and windows.
“They have until April 30 to replace them,” he said here, Thursday.
Under the new regulations, which were announced last month, the level of Visible Light Transmission (VLT) for rear windows and windscreens was reduced to 30% from 50% currently.
The new regulations were to come into effect Nov 1 2014
The allowable tint for front windscreens remains at 70% and driver’s windows at 50% - The Star online
